How to Submit Your Demo to a Record Label
Submitting demos is one of the most misunderstood parts of the music industry. Most artists get ignored — not because their music is bad, but because they don't know how to present it.
Here's what we look for at BASSWAV, and how to maximize your chances with any label.
1. Send a Private SoundCloud Link or Streaming Link
Don't send WAV files as attachments. Don't send Google Drive links that require permission. A private SoundCloud link or a WeTransfer download link works best.
2. One Track, Not Ten
Send your best track. Not your newest, not your favourite — your best. Labels receive hundreds of demos. We're making a decision in the first 30 seconds.
3. Tell Us Why You Fit
We don't need your life story. We need 2-3 sentences about your sound and why you think it fits our label. If you've done research on what we release, it shows.
4. Include Your Socials
Link your SoundCloud, Spotify, or Instagram. We want to see who you are as an artist, not just one track.
5. Be Patient
At BASSWAV, we listen to every single demo. But it takes time. Give labels 2-3 weeks before following up.
Submit to BASSWAV
We sign bass music that hits. If your music has that energy, we want to hear it.
