How to Network in the Bass Music Scene
Networking doesn't mean spamming DMs. It means being present, being genuine, and having something real to offer. Here's how to do it without making people cringe.
1. Go to Events
Nothing replaces showing up. Go to local DnB nights, hard techno events, bass music festivals. Talk to people. Exchange socials. Follow up the next day.
2. Support Before You Ask
Before you DM a label or promoter, engage with their content. Share their releases. Comment on their posts — real comments, not "fire emoji" spam. Build familiarity before you make an ask.
3. Collaborate, Don't Compete
The fastest way to grow is to work with other artists at your level. Collabs, remix swaps, shared playlists — these create mutual audiences and real relationships.
4. Be Consistent Online
Post your music regularly. Share your process. Show the behind-the-scenes. People follow artists who show up consistently — not the ones who post once every three months.
5. Don't Burn Bridges
The scene is smaller than you think. Everyone knows everyone eventually. Be professional, be honest, and don't talk shit. Your reputation is your most valuable asset.
The BASSWAV Approach
We built BASSWAV by showing up — releasing music, curating playlists, and connecting with artists who share our energy. No shortcuts. No tricks. Just consistency.
