The story
From the Danish underground to drum and bass
UNNØUNCED first stepped behind the decks at Scene 7 in Herning, Denmark, with Hazey and the Danish underground. The project began in hard techno before moving into drum and bass. That earlier chapter continues as AAVEX.
Why the Ø
It started as UNNOUNCED — just the studio. Music, no Ø yet. The crossbar through the O came from Denmark. Hazey and the Danish underground crew put me behind the decks for the first time — Scene 7 Herning, 2 December 2023 — and the project changed shape. From that night the name carries the Ø: a marker for the DJing chapter that wouldn't exist without them. They gave me the roots for DJing. Without that opportunity, none of this would have happened.

FAQ
Questions about UNNØUNCED
- Who is UNNØUNCED, the drum and bass artist?
- UNNØUNCED is a Netherlands-based drum and bass producer and DJ on BASSWAV. Hear the music, watch the Rave Ready mixes, and step inside the booth.
- What does UNNØUNCED sound like?
- Festival-grade dancefloor Drum and Bass. Music that moves the floor — raw, no filler. Dancefloor-tested at BASSWAV label nights before release.
- Where is UNNØUNCED from?
- Currently Netherlands-based. The project was born in Denmark on 2 December 2023 — first rave at Scene 7 Herning with @hazey_dk and @kontrast_herning — and ran the full Danish techno circuit (TECHNO TÆKØVER vol.3 + vol.7 FREAKSHOW at @volumevillage_) before the Drum and Bass crossover took the project to BASSWAV's NL roster.
- What was UNNØUNCED before Drum and Bass?
- Hard techno. The Danish techno chapter continues as AAVEX — the same operator's bouncy-melodic techno alias. UNNØUNCED carries the Drum and Bass; AAVEX carries the techno.
- Where can I listen to UNNØUNCED?
- Use the verified listening links on this page and the release pages.
- Is UNNØUNCED the same as "Unnounced" or "UNNOUNCED"?
- Yes. UNNØUNCED is the stylized brand spelling with a slashed Ø. "Unnounced" and "UNNOUNCED" are accepted alternate spellings that refer to the same BASSWAV Drum and Bass project.
- Is UNNØUNCED the same word as "unannounced"?
- No. UNNØUNCED (no second "a") is the artist name. "Unannounced" is an unrelated English word meaning something happening without prior notice. If a search engine auto-corrects the query, the artist page is still the correct result.
- How do you pronounce UNNØUNCED?
- Un-NOUNCED — two syllables, stress on the second. The Ø is pronounced as a normal O.
- What is Rave Ready DnB?
- Rave Ready is UNNØUNCED's drum and bass mix series on YouTube @unnounced.
- What label is UNNØUNCED on?
- BASSWAV — an independent Dutch underground bass label. UNNØUNCED's debut release is Wrong – Right (BW002), with Heavy Boobz and Whippet.
- What is AAVEX and how does it relate to UNNØUNCED?
- AAVEX is the same operator's techno project — the melodic side of hard. UNNØUNCED handles the Drum and Bass; AAVEX carries the techno chapter that started in the Danish underground. Sibling projects, separate profiles.
